Austrian Glaciers, October 2014
There is not much skiing in the USA in October; Timberline only opens sporadically at weekends, and although Arapahoe Basin opened this week (with one run), the Colorado resorts don't really get going with their snowmaking until early November.
So Reece and travelled over to Europe, to do some skiing on the glaciers in the Tirol. Conditions were rather thin, with little snow on top of the blue glacier ice, especially at Stubai and to a lesser extent at Sölden.
But we had some decent skiing, and were able to join a Scottish group, ATC
for a couple of days of SL and GS training. Thanks to my old team-mates Sean Langmuir and Andy Freshwater, plus the rest of the ATC team!
